On Saturday, June 10, 2017, 30 team members of the Magic Dragon racing team arrived at Fanshawe Park, along with other 52 race teams, ready to take on the FanshaweDragon Boat Race Festival 2017 which is organized by the Rowbust Dragon Boat Racing Club. To top it off, we were greeted with perfect weather.

Magic Dragon is organized by the Chinese Canadian National Council, London Chapter, and the London Chinese Association. Our goal is to embrace and participating in Chinese traditional cultural activities, promote Chinese heritage beyond the Chinese community.  Our team consisted of members with different cultural background.

In the 1st race, our official time was 2:55:81”, putting our team in E division.  We determined to try our best for the next race.  Our semi-final time was 2:59:98”, putting us in the E-Consolation Division. In the final race, it was a very close and exciting race that our team finished the race with 2nd place in E-consolation division.
