July 1st is Canada Day, and it is also the beginning of the second half of 2016. The volunteers of London Chinese Association enjoy full 12 hours with the residents of all ethnic groups in London. Although the thunderstorm appears in the morning, we still use our enthusiasm to do the works together, which involved in putting up the tent, tables and chairs, hanging Flags of Canada and China, turning on the stove, etc. Due to our location is right in the air and the wind is very strong, tents are almost crumbling. However, we are not scared by strong wind, and try to find some ways to stabilize the tent including re-anchor the tent, using drinks and other heavy objects to fix the tent and reduce the height of tent, etc. Finally, we stabilize our camp.
Fried spring roll, as a traditional Chinese cuisine, is flagship product that attracts different ethnic groups and different age customers. The people who eat fried spring rolls are full of praise, and we also have many repeat customers and referrals. Due to cooking skills of chefs, our unique and passionate sales model and reasonable price, endless stream of customers come to enjoy Fried spring roll.
Today, volunteers launch charity bazaar and barter activities. They exchange the food from other stalls, and the atmosphere of the whole event is activated. This event can deepen the communication with other stalls, and embody the fun for all people.
In the evening, more people come to attend this festival, and more customers are waiting in the line to enjoy fried spring roll. Our volunteers use two pans to cook chips and fry spring rolls, and they really enjoy the moment.
After the fireworks, the whole celebration is nearly to finish. We started to sell off the remaining food. When darkness falls, we distribute the remaining food to the customers for free. We are very satisfied when we see smile on customer’s face. The biggest success of this event is that we can bring the happiness to others, and we can also provide the help to others who need help.
Thanks to all the volunteers and organizations who participate in charity activities, our activities cannot achieve success without your dedication. Through this successful event, the raised funds will be used for a variety of activities to the Chinese community and related services. All of the staff of London Chinese Association will work together to create a better local Chinese community.
