London Chinese Association Donated Event Proceeds to United Way

London Chinese Association has successfully hosted the 2014 Chinese New Year Celebration on Jan 25.  We received warm greeting letters from PM Mr. Stephen Harper and Mayor Mr. Joe Fontana.  We were grateful to have several  city council members joining our event together with about 600 audience.

Reflecting London’s multicultural makeup, the performance had different art forms including singing, dance, opera, comedy, and others. Well-known local artists, various ethnic troupes also took on the stage. We are very happy that we delivered this event as we planned and made a positive contribution to our multicultural society.  To continue strengthening the community, we will be looking for more opportunities in the future to partner with different local community agencies in providing better programs and services to community members.

Although it was not a fundraising event, we are still very happy about achieving a surplus of $407.70 from the event.  The board has decided that half of the proceeds will be going to United Way London & Middlesex (an amount of $203.85).

On Feb 21st, a cheque of $203.85 has been sent to United Way London office.
